Navigating Relationships
“Navigating Relationships” is an experiential workshop exploring the unseen dynamics that shape how we relate to ourselves, our partners, our families, and those who came before us. Through the lens of Family Constellation Therapy, we create a safe and embodied space to uncover inherited patterns, release entanglements, and restore flow in connection.
Together, we also explore the cultural narratives we carry the unspoken stories around love, loyalty, identity, and belonging that influence how we show up in relationships. These collective beliefs often shape our choices more than we realise, and this workshop offers space to gently examine, honour, and (if needed) redefine those inherited stories.
This session invites insight, compassion, and the possibility of relating with more awareness, freedom, and heart across generations, cultures, and systems.
Structure
The workshop will be seated in a circle to foster connection, safety, and shared presence. We begin with a grounding meditation and move between personal constellation work, group activities, and shared reflection. The space is held with care, allowing participants to witness, engage, and process at their own pace.
Process
We begin with a guided meditation to ground the group and open the relational space. The workshop flows between a group activity that supports connection and awareness, and a personal constellation session facilitated for one participant. This rhythm allows the group to engage together, then witness or participate in deeper individual work. Each part of the process invites insight, presence, and the possibility for gentle shifts in how we relate to ourselves and others.
Steps
1. Welcome, group agreements, and check-in.
2. Guided meditation and body awareness practice.
3. Group activity: exploring relational roles or boundaries through movement or shared inquiry.
4. Invitation for participants to bring forward a relationship theme or issue.
5. Facilitated constellation processes using group representatives.
6. Integration: reflection, journaling, or group sharing.
7. Closing ritual or karakia to honour the work and the field.
Personal Message from John and Jo Palareit
Tēnā koutou,
We are writing to express our enthusiasm and interest in running a workshop at the ISCA Gathering in Mexico. We believe that our experience and dedication to Family Constellation Therapy align perfectly with the goals and values of the ISCA community, and we would be honoured to contribute to this prestigious event.
We are from Aotearoa New Zealand and are excited about the opportunity to bring our expertise and passion to the ISCA Gathering. With 26 years of navigating life together, we have gained a profound understanding of the complexities and beauty of relationships. Our workshop is designed to harness this experience, focusing on the diverse cultural narratives that shape our lives and relationships. We aim to create a transformative space where participants can explore and heal intergenerational and cultural patterns, fostering deeper connections and understanding.
The theme “Embracing All Cultures Across Time” resonates deeply with us. Our workshop will emphasise cultural awareness, sensitivity, and healing across generations, with a particular focus on the impact of cultural narratives on personal and interpersonal relationships. The workshop will emphasise understanding how the stories, traditions, values, and beliefs passed down through different cultures influence the way individuals perceive themselves and relate to others. This includes exploring how these cultural narratives shape personal identities, behaviours, and the dynamics within relationships, both within the family and in broader social contexts. We believe that this approach will provide participants with valuable tools and insights to strengthen and enrich their relationships through cultural understanding.
We look forward to contributing to a vibrant and transformative event.
