Welcome to our ISCA 2025 Mexico Conference website
The last in-person ISCA Gathering was in Lovran, Croatia in October 2018. The chair at the time was Max Dauskardt and I was the Vice-Chair.
I remember very clearly a discussion that arose towards the end of the Gathering about the vision for the next ISCA conference to be held in Mexico.
There was a lot of energy around this vision and so when the new Board was elected in 2019, we set about preparing. We were delighted to have Alexandra from Mexico now on the Board to help move this vision forward even though she had not been present at Lovran.
A venue was arranged in San Miguel de Allende and many presenters stepped forward in response to this exciting vision. Then in early 2020 the world was hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
We persevered with the preparations hoping that by April 2021 the pandemic would have passed. However, in October 2020 we decided (with help from a constellation) that because of the uncertainty at that time we needed to make the decision to transfer the ISCA2021 Gathering online and include the transmission online of an opening ceremony performed in Mexico and hosted by Alexandra.
Holding a large conference online was a huge task for the ISCA Board especially as we decided to included translations into Spanish, Turkish and Greek. This was unchartered territory for all of us. My thanks to the Board and all those who volunteered as zoom hosts and translators.
The ISCA 2021 Gathering was a huge success and when it was time to organise the ISCA 2023 Gathering members voted again to go online even though the pandemic was much less in evidence.
Although the ISCA 2023 Online conference was also a great success with over 50 workshops including several simultaneously, it has become clear that after a long period of online workshops and conferences there is a hunger for personal contact and in person workshops and constellations.
ISCA 2025 is therefore recapturing the vision in Lovran in 2018 to hold the next in-person ISCA Gathering in Mexico.
Even though the pandemic seems to have abated there is a lot of uncertainty in the world. The ISCA Board have therefore decided that it would be a wonderful opportunity to provide a space for exploring “Embracing all cultures beyond time” in the heartland of the timeless Mayan indigenous culture of Yucatan.
I encourage you all to take this wonderful opportunity to be enriched in the company of respected keynotes speakers and a wealth of other presenters passionate about the theme “Embracing all cultures beyond time”.
